The die is the most crucial part of the pellet mill since it directly affect the feed’s PDI, size, durability, hardness, colors and some others. The die’s price should be the most expensive of the consumable parts of the pellet mill. So using the right and best die is the most important thing during feed production.
What Is A Ring Die?
Huge ring fittings with uniform holes are known as "ring die", a critical component in a pellet mill since it's easily worn pellet mill accessories and it will affect the feed output. A good ring die will help the feed factory improve the throughput but an unsuitable ring die will reduce the throughput and even wear the pellet mill. Ring dies must be assembled with extremely precise dimensions, or it will not be installed successfully. Ring die should be the high-cost consumable parts for the pellet mills and it's very important for the feed factory's cost control.
A good ring die must have high wear and corrosion resistance under the high speed of the pellet mill's rotation. So Shanbao Machinery chose high carbon, high chromium X46Cr13 stainless steel as the raw material to ensure the ring die blank's hardness and toughness. Furthermore, Shanbao Machinery loads the ring dies in a high vacuum furnace to do the heat treatment, keeps the ring die under high temperatures for a long time to change the structure of the material and improve its hardness, strength, toughness, plasticity and other properties.

What Is The Compression Ratio?
The compression ratio is the length of the compression divided by the compression hole diameter. Mostly, the higher compression ratio produced denser pellets, but it does not mean the better pellet. The compression ratio should be calculated based on raw materials for pellets and types of feed, an unsuitable compression ratio will lead the feeds are too loose and too hard and uneven particle. It's very important to choose suitable compression ratio. Buyers can customize dies with different hole diameters and compression ratios according to the situations and requirements.
